My Life as a Manatee
I’ve often wondered if, in an alternate universe, I had to live underwater for an extended period of time, how would I like to spend my days? The answer is simple: As a manatee. The manatee, or “sea cow,” is a gentle giant among boaters and fishermen alike, and lives peacefully in the warm waters of central Florida. Known for their kind, inquisitive, non-threatening nature, the manatee is loved by both tourists and locals. I’d imagine such positive adulation would have a warming effect on the soul – to be loved by so many, threatened by so few and adored the world over… sounds like a very good way to pass some time.
